raw artwork projects: clayheads workshop

The clayheads workshop began with a project to celebrate the centenary of International Women's Day.

Entitled a ''Community Conversation' it brought together local women, men and children of Wiveliscombe Somerset to make 100 clay heads of women, culminating in an display during the local arts festival week - '10 Parishes Arts Festival 2011'. All the heads made during this project can be viewed at:http://100clayheads.blogspot.com/

The success of these workshops and exhibition drew great interest from other groups looking to take part in an activity that spoke about themselves and the groups they worked in.

We have since run tailor made workshops for NHS staff training days, as well as for counsellor training programmes, and for professional pyschotherapy and counselling practitioners. We have worked with people ranged between aged 3 and 83. If you think you would like to bring this experience to your organisation please do get in touch.

Workshops cost £300 per session, lasting between 2 and 3 hours depending on the size of the group. This fee covers all materials, tools and tution, kiln firing and return of the finished items once completed.

The artifacts can then be used by your organisation for further development of group dynamics or used in promotional work, or for exhibiting purposes.
